Little Overtons' Pre School is run by and for the local community. Qualified staff are assisted by parents who are asked to volunteer each term. This ensures a high
level of interaction in a safe, caring and stimulating environment.
Our aims are:
-
To encourage the personal and social development of pre-school children in a safe and happy environment where children can learn as they play;
-
To provide high quality care and education, and an understanding of the needs of the family, regardless of background, race or religion;
-
To enable children to develop relationships with other adults and children outside the family, and to be able to share afterwards with their parents and carers, their new learning experience enjoyed in pre-school.
As a community pre-school we actively encourage parent/carer involvement. Whether it’s joining the committee, helping out in pre-school, supporting fundraising activities, assisting with outings/special events or offering practical skills and support, any help is really appreciated. If you are interested in getting involved or have any questions or concerns regarding LOPS, please contact the Committee Chair
Activities
We provide a wide range of activities to encourage the social, mental and physical development of the children. Careful planning by our committed staff ensures we meet the new Foundation Stage requirements. Our excellent Ofsted reports are available on request.
As well as a well equipped classroom, we also have access to a large enclosed outdoor playground and a new multi-purpose activity area adjoining the pre-school. These allow the children to be outside for some time every day (weather permitting!) to enjoy a whole range of activities. Milk or water and a nutritious snack are provided each morning and afternoon.
Admissions
Places are available for the 2012-2013 school year, please contact our administrator on 07565 713994 or send us a message via the contacts link.
Little Overtons’ is registered with Ofsted to accept a maximum of twenty children per session, aged from 2.5 up to 5 years of age. It is our intention to make our pre-school genuinely accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community.
Lunch-club sessions can be offered to children attending either morning or afternoon sessions however priority is given to children requesting “full-day-care” sessions. Fees are £6 per session & £3.00 per lunch club. The Early Years Foundation Stage Grant can be used for up to a maximum of 15 hours per week for children aged 3 years and over commencing the full term after their third birthday.
We have close links with Frodsham C. of E. primary school, whose site we share. Attendance at the pre-school, however, does not guarantee a place at the primary school.
Events
We organise events for the children throughout the year such as a Christmas party and play. We also run events to raise essential funds to maintain and further improve our facilities and bring the Little Overtons’ community together.
